Splendiferous Zeppelin Escapades

Well, Spencer has started smiling at us. It’s hard work, but totally worth it. We have even caught it on “film.” I did a scrapbook layout for it. It is so sweet getting that beautiful little guy to smile. He’s just too cute for his own good. Granted, I’m a little biased, but I don’t care. He’s just too cute. Here’s the layout I did, so you all can share for in the cuteness that is Spencer smiling.

From Spencer's First Month

Well, we blessed our beautiful baby on Sunday, December 7, 2008. We did it so quickly, because we could AND because Adam’s parents were here. Mostly because Adam’s parents were here. Adam did a marvelous job, and blessed our baby with many choice blessings. We are so fortunate to have Spencer in our family. He has been such a joy to have in our family, even the few short weeks he’s been here, and on the short nights that we’ve had too.

We are so grateful that we were able to have Adam’s parents here with us. They were so wonderful to have around. We had missed them. It was also nice to have someone to trade off with at night when Spenc was being fussy. It seems like Spencer has a special liking for Grandpa. Doesn’t matter if it is Grandpa Jeppson or Grandpa Hintze. He loves to hang out with them.

Well, everyone I have officially started a “Mommy Journal.” I am keeping a record of my joys, frustrations and funny things that I experience as a mother. I didn’t want to turn this website into that, so Adam helped me create an off shoot of this one. I will still post big things that happen in our lives here and the little things that are just great for everyone to see here, but for the most part I’ll keep them separate. It all happened unexpectedly, and I’m not being cliche-ish. Every single thing about this whole experience has been unexpected, good and bad. On Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 at 4:45am, I awoke to Jessica saying words not unlike “ADAM!!! Wake up!”. Naturally, I did because I’d been hoping for those words every day for the past week. She was a little excited because her water had broken (”ruptured” as the medical folk say). She had gotten up to go to the bathroom, felt a gushing sensation, and the rest you can guess. After we came to the realization we were going to have a baby that day, my next words, as you can expect, were “Want to go back to bed?”

From Spencer's Birth Pictures

Well, Spencer Hintze Jeppson made his debut into the world on Wednesday, November 5th. He was born at 2:08 in the afternoon, weighing in at 7 lbs 10 ounces, and measuring 21 1/4 inches long.
