Updates…

24 Sep

Well, I’ve been searching for something to post for this month, but as of today, we’ve been busy with not a lot of “news” to share.  I have been more social the past month, which has really be good for me.  I have been going to play groups with Spencer, dinner parties, birthday parties, book clubs and a few other things.  It’s been great.

Spencer is doing well in his helmet again, and his head is looking GREAT!  We are getting it scanned tomorrow.  I imagine we’ll probably spend a few more weeks in it.

Spencer love to crawl through things, chairs, tables, anything that might have space for him.  So, he got a new toy this week.  We got a video of him playing in it.

We went to the park yesterday, and I wanted to you some pictures and another video.  :)

This has a funny story. At first, he HATED the swings. After a minute, he started to love them. This is a video after he started having a good time.

Bald is Beautiful!

So, yeah, I haven’t written here in a long time.  Today has definitely provided a worthy reason:  I shaved my head today with a straight razor.  I’ve been using clippers without a guard for a while, but it still leaves some stubble.  I wanted a real aerodynamic feel.  After only a few drops of blood and a substantial amount of razor burn, here’s the result:

The new baldness

The whiteness, my eyes!!!

And as an extra bonus, here’s upside-down Spencer:

Well, Spencer had his head scanned again last Friday, and his asymmetry had increased from 9 at the beginning of August to 12. So we have to have Spencer back in his helmet for another 30 days. :(

However, it has been immensely helpful since Spencer has learned to crawl! He’s such boy, and he’s always bangin’ into stuff and whackin’ his head. With the helmet on his head, he doesn’t get hurt or get upset! It’s been great.

So while it bites that Spencer is back in the helmet, it rules that we don’t have to worry about his head getting hurt. We would never put his helmet on just to protect his head, but it’s an added benefit to a not so pleasant situation. :) (lest you think we were the overly cautious type parents)
